Preplant soil preparation unit

UAB Laumetris produces trailed precision seedbed cultivators (germinators) – with a working width of 3.6m, 4m, 6m and 7m. A germinator is used for a very accurate preparation of the soil – prior to planting sugar beet, flax, rape seeds and grain crops at a precisely measured depth. The depth of soil processed by a germinator is up to 80mm. A germinator consists of several sections. Pin-type joints allow the sections to follow the field’s curvature separately and process the soil down to the same depth. Germinators can be combined with sowing machines of various types.

Each section of a germinator is made up of front and rear supporting rollers, a leveller and tines. The front roller breaks up earth lumps and allows the following leveller to achieve a level soil surface. Between the front and the rear rollers, spring tines are positioned in five rows with 40-millimetre-wide reversible shares. The distance between the adjacent tines is 60mm.
